The first 24 hours following a water incident are the most important in preventing secondary or permanent water damage. Within four hours of loss notification, SERVPRO of Jefferson City will be on-site to help ensure water damage is handled properly. This Jefferson City home suffered damage from a break in the toilet’s water supply line, resulting in water damage to the home’s family room carpeting.
After a thorough inspection of the property, our SERVPRO professionals took the necessary steps to protect the home from further damage by extracting the excess water, then prepare for drying.
The water extraction process involved our SERVPRO professionals bringing in air movers, also known as “industrial air blowers”, “commercial blower fans”, or floor drying fans. The air movers were used to increase the air circulation which speeds up the water evaporation and reduces drying time. Drying time was monitored, with the results consistently communicated to the homeowner throughout the monitoring process. Air movers are an essential tool mitigating water damage as they reduce the water damage dry out time to the carpet and floors, as well as wall cavities behind the drywall.
