Stay Safe on the Fourth of July
7/2/2021 (Permalink)
It's that time of the year again. Long, hot summer days, baseball, the American flag and buntings decorating the front of our homes. Then comes the Fourth of July. It's a time of celebration with fireworks, BBQs, friends and family. With all of the fanfare the most important thing to keep in mind is safety.
Fireworks
Fireworks can be dangerous. Give yourself plenty of space and find a safe location away from your house or anything flammable. Supervise children and be sure that first-aid supplies are close by. Find more fire safety tips from the Federal Emergency management Agency FEMA.
Grilling
While grilling. keep your grill a safe distance from your house tree branches and deck railings. Keeping your grill free from grease and fat is helpful as well as fat can cause unexpected flames.
Heat
This time of year we can generally expect hot days. Stay cool, wear a hat and light clothing, protect yourself with sunscreen, stay hydrated and find relief in the shade.
Your friends at SERVPRO of Jefferson City wish for you to have a fun and safe Independence Day celebration.
